It is essential to remember the importance of plants in the Cycle of Life.  Some butterflies only lay their eggs on one type of plant.  Without that one plant, their species could not exist.  I could not imagine a world without butterflies.  For Monarch Butterflies the Milkweed plant is the only plant their baby caterpillars can eat.  Humans may consider a "weed" unsightly in their landscape and destroy it, but everything has its role in the perfect balance of our planet Earth...including us.
