PASSION FLOWER

The Passion Flower (Passiflora) is a unique and fascinating flower.  She is the only host plant for the Gulf Fritillary Butterfly's eggs/caterpillars.  She is an herbal ingredient for a relaxing tea and is also used to produce exotic fragrance oils.  Children often say it looks like an "alien" flower.  The name comes from missionaries using this local flowering vine and its intricate multiple parts to explain Christianity.  Japanese refer to it as the "clock" flower.  No matter what she is called, she is amazingly beautiful.  I hope to add photos of more and different colors available.
